Our Parish
Welcome to St James Coptic Orthodox Church in Nunawading. The parish is within the canonical jurisdiction of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Melbourne.
We are a small but growing parish where people from many backgrounds gather to worship, learn, and serve together in the love of Christ.
Rooted in the ancient faith of the Coptic Orthodox Church - founded by St Mark the Evangelist in the first century - we seek to live that same faith here and now, through prayer, fellowship, and service.
Our Vision is that each person whom we serve is transformed by the Grace of God into the Image and Likeness of God.
Our Mission is to be a Coptic Orthodox parish where all people of every background are invited and welcomed to experience and encounter the Triune God: God the Father and His Son our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, that each person may be transformed into the image and likeness of God.
We highly value:
1. Liturgia – To live the Coptic Orthodox Liturgical and sacramental life.
2. Koinonia – To live the life of fellowship.
3. Diakonia – To live the life of service to God and the community.
